Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She worked later as morning news anchor for WCBD TV and acted as an investigative reporter. The journalist's report on the lack of responses of police officers towards DUI cases in Charleston led to an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor and investigative reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. O'Dell, in addition to being the anchor of Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC.
